More Production Insights

Update for Saturday Aug 26 2006 Saturday night, Garth worked at his house on cleaning up ep 3 narration to remove all unnecessary sounds. My actual read is not a pretty sound. My actual voice sounds like Bart Simpson with a cold eating peanut butter. When Garth is through, I’ll sound like James Earl Jones doing Shakespear in Carnegie Hall.

On Saturday, I went to Kendalls house. He worked on music for Ep 3 of Dreams and Wings. I worked on Ep 4 text. We commented about how some of Kendalls lines end up in my text and how some of my notes end up in his melodies. Its a collaborative process. A few weeks ago, the 3 of us worked on Kendalls studio. Garth took measurements with a bunch of equipment, then he built some bass traps to absorb the dominate frequencies of the room. Then we applied burlap wrapped sound insultation to the corners, ceiling, and walls to reduce the reverberation t60 times. Now the room is more sonically ‘flat’ meaning no particular frequencies are emphasized and there’s barely an echo so Kendall can now hear the actual reverb he’s putting into music, rather that having the room create artificial echoes.

Started a conversation with a potential artist. Perhaps we might have some new artwork for the website.
