I’m proud to announce the release of the soundtrack for “Of Dreams and Wings.” It’s 90 minutes of original music in a 2-disc set of 23 high-quality MP3s.

Production Update for May 4th, 2009

So a couple weeks after my last post, Garth called to say he lost a drive in the array on his server. The bad news is that we were knocked back to Mid December. The good news is that (after many hours of work by G) were back up to here:

One line to retake in Ep 4
Rebuild SFX for final scenes in Ep 4
Need to re-tweak mix levels in eps 1-4 (bah)
So we’re …..you know……. 99.99999% done with “Dreams and Wings”

I can’t express enough how I want this show done and “in the can”. (In the old fashioned days when audio tape or film was used, when a project was finished, the reel of tape would be placed in tinny metal dinner plate sized short metal container or “can”.) I suppose a modern version would be “I want the show done and on the thumb drive!” This setback was like a baseball bat to the face.

Kendall has spent a while remixing the music he created for the 4 episodes of “Dreams and Wings” into a coherent 90 minute piece. Last night Kendall and I were hosting an electronic music show On KRCL ( twitter.com\showwithnoname ) and we played the full 90 minutes of score music over the radio. If you’d like a copy, then send an email to getssmusic@gmail.com
(of course I don’t see why we couldn’t make that music available in the forums)

Kendall is digging through the thousands of instruments in “Omnisphere” so we can find the couple of dozen “self dynamic” instruments that can be used to singlehandedly create music for a whole scene by basically holding down the middle C key on the keyboard. If we can find enough of these instruments (and I think we are), then show production can be improved by a factor of 10. It will open up a whole new world for us.

Off to work on the next story.

As I’m sure many of you out there use cover-art enabled mp3 players, I thought I’d provide a cover image that you can add to any mp3 files you’ve downloaded from the members area of the forum. From now on, all new files posted will contain cover art so you won’t need to add it, but if you’ve downloaded any files previously, feel free to add the following image to those files. I intentionally made it a bit large large so you can scale it how you like.

Hey there all you Searcher & Stallion fans… I just wanted to put up a quick post to let you know that in addition to the Dreams and Wings preview episodes, the full story of The Time Masters is now also available for download to members of the forum. It took a while to get all 7 episodes from this original series classic up, but now with our new hosting we’ve been able to make them all available for you. Also, check back soon as we’ll be posting additional stories from the original series in the forum soon including The Drive, The Edge of Knowing and the classic 12 part story The Nemesis. And as always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to drop us a line.

Production Update for Dec 29, 2008

On Saturday night Garth was able to insert the acted bits into ep2. Below are links to the latest versions. You can listen to these episodes by either downloading the files via the links below or you can also listen directly via the embedded players below or by using the S&S Insider player in the right-hand nav. These files can also be downloaded along with many other shows from the original series in the members area of the forums.

Production Update for Dec 18, 2008

On Monday night at WOODSHAR studio, we had some actors perform the S&S lines in eps 1-4 of Dreams and Wings. On Tuesday night, we did the ‘voice foley’, which is all the background breathing and grunts. I was really impressed with the talent and things went well. We did have some technical glitches, but Garth was able to flumox the capacitor valve and now we’re good to go.

The craft table was excellent. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be able to insert this work into the final versions of the show. They say with movie editing that they never ‘finish’ editing, but rather the movie ‘escapes’ to go to the premier. But seriously, we’re running out of things to fix.
