Well, we’ve been threatening to switch web hosts for quite a while now due to some technical issues we’ve been having and I’m happy to say that it’s finally done. We’re now up and running on our new host and it should makes things much better for everyone. One of the biggest issues we’ve had over the past year is in regards to audio downloads in the members area of the forum. We’ve done some testing and I’m 99% confident that those issues are now a thing of the past. Members of the forum should now have no troubles downloading past episodes. There are some other technical advantages to our host swap, but it’s mostly just behind the scenes stuff. Anyway, please let us know if you find anything wonky with the site over the next couple weeks and if there have been any audio that you haven’t been able to download from the forum, please give it another try. Also, we should have the rest of The Time Masters episodes posted in the forum in the next couple weeks so keep checking back.

Hey there S&S fans. We want to let you know that we’re in the process of changing hosts to fix some of the downloading issues you’ve been experiencing. This will take place over the next week or two as we migrate all of the data to the new servers, but hopefully there won’t be any interruption as we make the change. Once the swap is complete, you should no longer have any issues with the member audio downloads timing out. However, as many of you may know, there’s always the possibility of issues during the migration. If there are any issues we ask that you please be patient with us as we get everything back up and running.

Thanks.

Well, it’s been a while since we posted any updates to the blog, but we figured this news was worth a post. Registered members of the Fan Forum should know that many of the original Searcher & Stallion episodes are available in the members area of the forum, but today we’ve posted the first episode of the 7 part series “The Time Masters”.

Now I have to confess that this story holds a special place in my heart and is one of my personal favorites. Many years ago, before I was lucky enough to be the web admin for S&S.com, I was just a regular old fan of the show. I was just a kid in high school minding my own business when one day at school my cousin told me about this radio show on the local public radio station. The very next week I tuned in and found one of the greatest radio programs I’d ever heard.

From then on, Searcher & Stallion was a regular event for me each and every Sunday evening. I can remember lying in bed with my headphones on listening to Scott’s melodious voice as I was transported to a distant place and time. It was the perfect blend of sci-fi narration and electronic music. It was perfect. And the first Searcher & Stallion story I ever heard was The Time Masters. From the very first episode I knew I had found something special. And now we’re sharing it with you.

Head on over and register for the forum and you too can experience these classic S&S stories.

As some of you “old skool” fans may know, Searcher & Stallion has been around in one form or another for close to 15 years now. The show was originally broadcast as part of Scott Howard’s weekly radio program “Variables” which aired on KRCL 90.9 FM in Salt Lake City, Utah. Between 1992 and 1995 Searcher and his robotic companion Stallion managed to build quite an extensive fan base by providing something that couldn’t really be found anywhere else on the radio dial. Fans were drawn by the gripping stories, the unique melding of audio drama and electronic music and by the plight of Searcher as he quested for knowledge and self discovery. The show was truly one of a kind and for me, became part of my weekly calendar. Each Sunday night I would tune in to listen as Searcher & Stallion explored the galaxy looking for clues.

For years after the final show of series one was broadcast, I searched the Internet looking for some way to obtain copies of those original shows that had been such an important part of my personal audio environment for so long. Unfortunately though, they were nowhere to be found…

Until now!

Although some of the shows will never be available again, a selection of stories from series one will be made available again through the Official Searcher & Stallion Fan Forum. By becoming a member of the forum you will gain access to the special “Members Only” section of the forum where these classic Searcher & Stallion episodes may be found.

It is important to note that these old shows from series one do not reflect the current state of production for Searcher & Stallion, but are being made available simply as a thanks to all those fans who have remained loyal over the years. We hope they serve to help wet your appetite for “Dreams And Wings”, the first story of the all new second series. Thanks again for listening and we hope you enjoy the first episode of the classic series one story “The Stone”, now available for download in the forum.

Welcome to the year 5804 A.F. There is general peace and free trade across the expanse of the Galactic Mega-Empire. With the aid of advanced technology, human kind has spread out across the galaxy and continues to explore and settle new worlds. For one man though, there is a deeper purpose to this galactic exploration. After awaking alone on a laboratory table, and with no memory of his past, Searcher now roams the galaxy with his robotic companion Stallion in search of answers. Answers about his forgotten past. Answers about why he awoke alone in that laboratory. He knows in his heart that these answers are important somehow, but they remain shrouded in fog and just out of reach. And so he searches.

Now you can join in on the new audio adventures of Searcher & Stallion as they roam the galaxy looking for information that can unlock Searchers past. Check back often for new episodes, pod casts and information on the production of this unique audio adventure. And visit our About Us page for a glimpse into Searcher & Stallion’s history.
